Unbeaten in their last three matches, the Chicago Fire return to SeatGeek Stadium today (April 20) to take on the winless Colorado Rapids (12 PM CT, ESPN+). Veljko Paunovic has unveiled his Starting XI presented by AT&T for today's game, detailed below:


  • Today's lineup features only one change from last Friday's draw against Vancouver Whitecaps FC, as Djordje Mihailović returns to the Starting XI in place of fellow midfielder Mo Adams
  • Midfielder Dax McCartyis in the Starting XI and captaining the side two days after the arrival of his firstborn son Callum. McCarty, who earned Heineken Man of the Match honors last Friday vs. Vancouver, is making his 336th career MLS appearance and 306th career regular season start. 
  • Striker Nemanja Nikolić, who has scored in each of his last two matches, starts up front alongside CJ Sapong. The two have combined for five goals and one assist thus far in 2019. 
  • Fire goalkeeper David Ousted is making his 17th all-time start in goal against the Colorado Rapids. Ousted claims a record of 6-7-3 in 16 starts against the Burgandy and Blue, including four shutouts. 
  • After making his first Fire start last Friday, midfielder Nicolás Gaitán is back in the Starting XI to face the Rapids. 
  • Homegrown defender Jeremiah Gutjahrmakes his fourth straight start since debuting against the New York Red Bulls on March 30. 
  • The Fire own a 16-4-2 advantage all-time when playing at home against Colorado.
