BRADENTON, Fla. (Feb. 21, 2018) – The Chicago Fire Soccer Club and Nashville SC played to a scoreless draw in their preseason friendly on Wednesday afternoon at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

Nashville looked to break the deadlock in the 22nd minute when they capitalized on a turnover but Stefan Cleveland quickly got down twice to get his hand on the ball to break up the attack.

The second year goalkeeper was again called into action in the 38th minute when Nashville strung together a string of passes but Cleveland calmly scooped up the ensuing shot.

In the 77th minute Richard Sanchez had a double save of his own, going to his left to keep Nashville off the board and preserve the shutout.

The Men in Red had their most dangerous look on goal minutes later when Nemanja Nikolic drew a free kick 22 yards from goal. Diego Campos lined up his right-footed shot, forcing a fingertip save from the Nashville ‘keeper.

Next up the Fire take on Orlando City SC on Feb. 24 at Orlando City Stadium at 10:30 a.m. CT in a closed door scrimmage. The last 15 minutes will be open for media.
