Damian Las, U.S. U-17s fall 1-0 to England in Nike International Friendlies

Chicago Fire Academy goalkeeper Damian Las (Norridge, Ill.) started and went the distance in net for the U.S. U-17 Men's National Team in their opener at the Nike Invitational Friendlies, a 1-0 loss to England Wednesday in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.

Las delivered a number of outstanding saves in a standout performance, finishing with seven saves on the evening. Las and the U.S. held a dynamic England side at bay until the 79th minute of an 80-minute match, when a header by England's Taylor Harwood-Bellis off a corner kick went just beyond the reach of a diving Las.
