Olympic
Gold Medalist speed skater Shani Davis will be featured as the official Chicago
Fire scarf raiser when the Fire host the “Fire Goes Green” match against the
Houston Dynamo on Saturday, April 24 7:30 PM CT (Comcast SportsNet) at TOYOTA
PARK. As the Fire’s scarf raiser, Davis will rally fans from the pitch prior to
kickoff of the Fire’s match this Saturday.
Davis
will don a commemorative Chicago Fire jersey featuring green colored name and
numbers, and a special patch to help highlight the “going green” initiatives
throughout the game against Houston Dynamo. Fans attending the Fire vs. Dynamo
match will have an opportunity to bid on Davis’ jersey along with game-worn,
commemorative Fire jerseys from each member of the team. Winners will be
given the opportunity to have the Fire player personally autograph the
game-worn jersey after the game. All proceeds benefit the Chicago Fire

Hailing
from Chicago, Davis is known as the fastest man on skates winning four Winter
Olympic medals, including two gold medals in 1000-meter speed skating; one at
the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, and more recently at the 2010 Winter
Olympics held in Vancouver, Canada. He currently holds world records in
1000-meter and 1500-meter speed skating, and has captured a total of eight
World Championships.
