BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (May 16, 2019) – The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced today that the Club has loaned goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland and defender Grant Lillard to USL League One side Lansing Ignite FC. The Fire retains the right to recall Cleveland or Lillard at any point during the MLS regular season, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines.
Additionally, as part of the loan agreement, Cleveland and Lillard are only eligible to compete for the Chicago Fire in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tournament.
Cleveland, 24, was originally selected by the Fire as the No. 26 overall pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. He has made five MLS appearances (five starts) for the Fire. Lillard, 23, is the 10th Homegrown Player signing in Club history. In the 2018 season, his rookie season with the Club, Lillard made eight appearances (six starts) for the Men in Red.
