The Chicago Fire Academy Under-17 side was back in action on Monday morning at day two of the 2019 Generation adidas Cup in Frisco, Texas.

After picking up four points on matchday one with a win over the Houston Dynamo and a penalty kick shootout defeat to Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland (Both teams are awarded one point if a match is tied at regulation, with the shootout winner awarded one additional point), the Fire U-17s squared off against their counterparts from Orlando City SC in their lone match of the day.

The Fire played with 10 men for the entirety of the second half, but held firm defensively until Missael Rodriguez provided a late match-winner to help claim the full three points. The Fire now sit in second place in Group A of the Premier Division with seven points, trailing only Liga MX side Club Tijuana. The top team from each group advances to the semifinals.
