Veljko Paunović has unveiled his Starting XI presented by AT&T for the Chicago Fire's Saturday matinée meeting with Seattle Sounders FC (12 PM CT, ESPN+) at SeatGeek Stadium. View the full squad below along with notes on today's side:
- Today's Starting XI features two changes from the squad that took the field for the home-opener last Saturday vs. Orlando City SC. In the attack, Przemysław Frankowski returns to the first-choice squad after a slight knock forced him into a reserve role last weekend, and today replaces Aleksandar Katai as the Serbian winger deals with a recent groin strain of his own. In defense, Nicolas Hasler makes his first start of the season at left back, with previous starter Jorge Corrales serving a one-match suspension following a red card earned vs. Orlando.
- CJ Sapong makes his third consecutive start for his new club, returning to his place on the wing opposite Frankowski. Sapong takes the field looking for a goal in a third straight outing to start the season after being the only member of the Men In Red to find net in each of the first two matches.
- Raheem Edwards and Amando Moreno each are making their first appearances of the season in the matchday squad.
- The Fire are looking for a third consecutive home win the series against the Sounders, having picked up a 1-0 home win in 2015 and a 4-1 victory in 2017.
