Injury update on Fire defender Matt Polster

CHICAGO(May 17, 2018) – Chicago Fire defender Matt Polster underwent surgery on Thursday morning to repair a right Medial Collateral Ligament tear. The procedure was performed without complication by Dr. Brian Forsythe at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.


Polster suffered the injury during training on Sunday, May 13. His estimated recovery time is four to five months.


Polster, 24, has played and started one match in 2018, the season-opener on March 10. Now in his fourth season with the Fire, he has 80 career MLS regular season appearances.
