Chicago Fire well-represented on MLS Team of the Week for Week 7

Nemanja Nikolic

The attacking line of the Week 7 MLS Team of the Week has a distinct Chicago Fire flair to it.

Forwards Nemanja Nikolic and Luis Solignac each earned the nod Monday after providing the firepower in Chicago's 3-0 defeat over the visiting New England Revolution Saturday at Toyota Park. Nikolic netted a second-half brace -- giving him four goals in six matches -- while Solignac recorded one assist on Bastian Schweinsteiger's first-half goal and helped set up Nikolic's strike in the 47th minute.

In addition to Nikolic and Solignac, Fire midfielders Dax McCarty and Bastian Schweinsteiger each were included on the squad's bench. The veteran tandem was instrumental in the Fire's keeping more than 75 percent of the possession against a Revs side that was reduced to 10 men midway through the first half.

Chicago has now had an MLS Team of the Week representative following five of its six matches in 2017:

Week 1: David Accam
Week 2: Dax McCarty
Week 5: Bastian Schweinsteiger
Week 6: Dax McCarty
Week 7: Nemanja Nikolic, Luis Solignac
