Chicago is ready to roll out the red carpet for Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The Chicago Fire announced on Monday two opportunities in the coming days for supporters to be part of the official welcoming committee for the German great and newest member of the club, beginning with his touchdown in the Windy City.
Schweinsteiger is scheduled to land at Chicago's O'Hare Airport (Terminal 5) at approximately 6:30 p.m. Tuesday (March 28), where fans are invited to await his arrival to make his first night in Chicago a memorable one.
Less than 24 hours later, all fans are welcome to attend Schweinsteiger's introductory press conference at The PrivateBank Fire Pitch (3626 N Talman Ave., Chicago). Doors open at 2 p.m. Wednesday (March 29) with the event officially beginning at 3 p.m. Those not in attendance can watch the press conference live in its entirety on CSN+ and on Chicago-Fire.com.
After the press conference, stick around at Heineken Pub97 to be part of the live audience for the taping of Fire Weekly presented by The PrivateBank (6-7 p.m.), as Fred Huebner, Frank Klopas and Paul Tenorio delve deeper into the arrival of Schweinsteiger, chat live with Nemanja Nikolic and preview Saturday's home match vs. the Montreal Impact (2 p.m., TICKETS).
