Kennedy Igboananike drew the Fire level in the 61st minute. Homegrown rookie forward Joey Calistri collected a pass from Razvan Cocis and played it back to Arturo Alvarez. The Salvadoran international found Igboananike out on the right flank just outside the 18-yard box. With a series of stepovers, the Nigerian striker evaded his defender and tucked his left-footed shot just inside the post for his team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Igboananike nearly took the lead in the 81st minute but his left footed shot from a sharp angle clanged off the post.

The home side took the full three points in the 89th minute when Perez completed his brace with a bicycle kick from the center of the box.

Goalkeeper Matt Lampson recorded a career high nine saves in the match for the Fire, while Chicago rookie Joey Calistri became the fourth Fire Homegrown signing to start a match for the club with his first career appearance in the Starting XI.

With the quick turnaround the Men in Red will swap coasts to take on the New England Revolution (1-3-7, 10 points) at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. CT (CSN/97.5 FM Poder).
