Saint Louis FC

CHICAGO(Jan. 21, 2016) ā€“ The Chicago Fire has renewed its USL affiliate partnership with Saint Louis FC, the club announced on Thursday. Through the partnership, the Fire will loan players to STLFC with an option to recall those players at any time during the year.

ā€œOur USL affiliate provides a valuable opportunity to develop young players,ā€ said Fire general manager Nelson RodrĆguez. ā€œSaint Louis FC was an excellent partner during its inaugural season and we look forward to working with Saint Louis FC again in 2016.ā€

In 2015, Patrick Doody made 21 appearances while on loan to STLFC and was tied for the team lead with four assists. Kingsley Bryce appeared in 10 matches for STLFC and scored twice during his loan.

ā€œWe are very excited to continue our affiliation with the Chicago Fire,ā€ said STLFC general manager Jeremy Alumbaugh. ā€œLast season was a productive one for both Saint Louis FC and the Fire in terms of what we were able to accomplish in regards to player development. The partnership will continue to grow and we are thrilled with the early direction shown by Nelson RodrĆguez and Veljko Paunovic in what they expect from us in terms of the affiliation. 2016 will be an exciting year for both clubs as there is a lot of excitement building for the start of pre-season.ā€

Head coach Dave Schilly returns for his second season and will lead STLFC as it makes the move to the Western Conference, where it will play a 30-game regular season beginning in March. STLFC will continue to compete at the 5,600-seat World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo., located just 15 minutes from downtown St. Louis.
