Chicago Fire Defenders Joevin Jones and Daneil Cyrus Called Up for International Duty

CHICAGO (Aug. 28, 2015) – Chicago Fire defenders Joevin Jones and Daneil Cyrus have been selected by Trinidad and Tobago National Team head coach Stephen Hart for the Soca Warriors’ friendly against Mexico at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah on Friday, Sept. 4 at 9 p.m. CT.
This summer, Jones and Cyrus helped Trinidad & Tobago top Group C with a 2-0-1 record before falling in penalties to Panama in the quarterfinal round of the Gold Cup.
Jones made his senior debut for the Soca Warriors on Sept. 7, 2010 against Panama. The Carenage, Trinidad native has earned 42 caps and scored his first international goal in the Group C opener in a 3-1 win against Guatemala at Soldier Field on July 9.
A Trinidad and Tobago youth international, Cyrus represented the Soca Warriors in the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Korea and the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt. The Plymouth, Trinidad and Tobago native made his senior debut against Chile in May 2010 and has since earned 42 caps.
