Juan Luis Anangono Transferred to Universidad de Guadalajara

CHICAGO (Dec. 17, 2014) – The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Wednesday that Juan Luis Anangono has been transferred to Liga MX side Universidad de Guadalajara. Per MLS and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.


Anangono joined the Fire on July 23, 2013 from Argentinos Juniors of the Argentine Primera Division. The Ibarra, Ecuador product made his Fire debut in a 2-1 win over the Montreal Impact on Aug. 10, 2013. In 28 appearances for the Men in Red, Anangono scored four goals and added one assist.


On July 3, Anangono joined LDU Quito of the Ecuadorian Serie A on a six-month loan. Anangono’s departure opens up a Designated Player slot on the Fire’s roster.
