Logan Pause

WATCH: John Thorrington gives fitting tribute to former teammate Logan Pause | #ThanksLogan

Thorrington Thanks Logan

From the time John Thorrington joined the Chicago Fire in 2005, he formed a close bond with fellow midfielder Logan Pause. It was perhaps brought to the forefront with a pretty hilarious Q&A series between the two that appeared on the Chicago Tribune site back in 2009 (John interviews Logan, Logan interviews John).

After playing one more season in Chicago, Thorrington was selected by the Vancouver Whitecaps in the 2010 MLS Expansion Draft and played two seasons in Cascadia before one final year with D.C. United in 2013.

Having had time to reflect a bit on his own retirement, we caught up with the man responsible for one of the Fire's most memorable goals of all-time (chip over LA Galaxy's Joe Cannon on the last day of the 2007 regular season) to get his lasting memories of his soon-to-be-retired friend and former teammate:

Stay tuned to Chicago-Fire.com for more tributes to Logan Pause in the lead-up to his final Fire match vs. the Houston Dynamo on Friday, October 24 at Toyota Park. Get your tickets here.
