Harry Shipp

BRADENTON, Fla. (Feb. 11, 2014) – The Chicago Fire Soccer Club defeated defending USL-PRO champions Orlando City SC 3-0 Tuesday evening at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Harry Shipp, Daniel Jackson and Freddie Braun tallied goals as the Men in Red remain undefeated in three preseason matches.

The Fire opened scoring in the 13th minute when Giuseppe Gentile was fouled just outside the Orlando City 18-yard box. Fire Homegrown midfielder Harry Shipp stepped up for the ensuing free kick and bent his right-footed shot around the Orlando City wall and into goal.

In the 30th minute, the Men in Red would double their lead when Victor Pineda found guest player Daniel Jackson streaking into the box. As Orlando ‘keeper Miguel Gallardo rushed off his line, Jackson took a touch and with a deft chip, lifted the ball over Gallardo and into the open goal.

The Fire found the final goal of the match in the 78th minute when Brendan King’s right-footed shot banged off the cross bar and fell to Open Tryout winner Freddie Braun, who headed it home for the 3-0 lead.
