By The Numbers: Digits we took away from Sunday's 2-0 win over D.C. United

After a long layoff, By the Numbers is back! Some digits we took away from Sunday's 2-0 win over D.C. United...

95 – Sure it was an own goal but the ninth minute ball that Nick DeLeon put into his own net gave the Fire their earliest lead of the season to date on Sunday.

In doing so, it also meant that the amount of minutes the team has led opposition opponents this season (14) went up more than six times to 95.

TICKETS still available for Saturday's match vs. Portland

5 – Mike Magee’s icing strike in the 85th minute was the fifth goal the Fire have scored after the 83rd minute this year. The team has nine goals overall this season.

2 – Magee’s goal also marked his second in as many games for the Men in Red.

With a goal Saturday vs. Portland, the new Fire striker can become just the second player in club history to score in each of his first three matches, a feat achieved only by Diego Chaves in 2011.

29 & 31 – With his assist on Magee’s goal Sunday, midfielder Patrick Nyarko moved into a tie for sixth place with Jesse Marsch on the club’s all-time assist list.

The two have 31 assists across all competitions and 29 in MLS regular season play.

18 – Though he didn’t have much to do, Sean Johnson earned the 18th MLS clean sheet of his MLS career. Johnson sits just three behind Jon Busch for second on the club’s all-time list.

50 – Sunday’s 2-0 victory was the Fire’s 50th regular season win at Toyota Park and 125th regular season home win.
