Chicago Fire Loan Federico Puppo

Federico Puppo

AVE MARIA, Fla. -- The club confirmed Saturday that forward Federico Puppo has been sent on a year-long loan to Ecuadorian giants LDU Quito.
“In the best interest of the club and the player, we have decided to loan Federico Puppo to Liga de Quito for the 2013 season,” said Vice President of Soccer Operations Gui Petrei. “This move allows Federico consistent playing time and an opportunity to play in the Copa Liberatadores qualifiers. We will continue to monitor his progress while he is in Ecuador.”
After joining the Fire last January, Puppo made 12 competitive appearances for the Fire, tallying two goals and one assist over the first half of 2012.
In late July, the 26-year-old forward was loaned to Uruguayan side Defensor Sporting where he tallied five goals in 12 matches while helping la Violeta to a second place finish in the Uruguayan Primera’s Apertura tournament.
