Fire Select Yazid Atouba Emane In Second Round of 2013 MLS SuperDraft

CHICAGO, Ill. (Jan. 17, 2013) – With the 30th overall selection in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft the Chicago Fire Soccer Club selected midfielder Yazid Atouba Emane. The left-footed Cameroonian Youth International was invited by MLS to participate in the 2013 MLS Player Combine in Fort. Lauderhill, Fla.

“Yazid is a dynamic, young forward,“ said Chicago Fire President of Soccer Operations Javier Leon. “We were able to watch him at the Combine and we’re excited to have him join us in preseason camp.”

Hailing from Rainbow FC Bamenda, Atouba Emane represented Cameroon in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Championships. He started three of the four matches in which he appeared during the tournament, helping Cameroon reach the Round of 16 where they fell to Mexico in a penalty shootout.
