Fire Loan Federico Puppo to Defensor Sporting Club

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Tuesday that the club has loaned Uruguayan forward Federico Puppo to Defensor Sporting Club. The 25-year-old striker will join Defensor Sporting Club immediately. Per club and MLS policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“This loan is an opportunity to provide Federico with more consistent playing time,” said Fire Head Coach Frank Klopas. “Defensor is a top team in Uruguay, having won the 2012 Clausura. We look forward to keeping a close eye on his progress while he is playing in Montevideo.”

Puppo joined the Fire on January 11, 2012  from Uruguayan side Danubio FC. The Montevideo, Uruguay product appeared in 12 matches for the Men in Red, starting two across MLS and U.S. Open Cup play. He tallied one goal and one assist during his time in Chicago.
