Goalkeeper Zach Thornton was the second Fire player to hit 100 MLS appearances for the club, making three saves in a 1-1 draw at Colorado on August 4, 2001.

Segares went the full 90, seeing Brian McBride put the side ahead 2-0 inside the first 20 minutes before former Fire forward Josh Wolff scored a brace to equalize.
