CHICAGO, IL The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Wednesday that the Fire has broken ground on the Second Star Club, a premier, all-inclusive club at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill. The luxury club area will provide Fire guests unrivaled sightlines of the players on the pitch, while also enjoying a world-class match-day experience in superb style with concierge activities.
“We’re committed to fueling the growth of soccer in Chicago,” said Fire President Julian Posada. “The Second Star Club is yet another example of Fire ownership’s investment in improving the fan experience so it’s one of the top sporting venues in Chicago. I am confident that fans will enjoy the new premiere amenities, but more important, they’ll get even more engaged and excited about what’s happening on the field.”
The Second Star Club’s all-inclusive match-day experience on the first concourse at Toyota Park is located mid-field and will include a dining room with a full-service bar. Second Star Club members also receive a number of benefits in the new state-of-the-art, 6,766 square-foot club such as premier seating, access to Fire players post-game, valet parking, a VIP entrance and private elevator and special pre-game talks led by a member of the Fire Technical staff. The Second Star Club will host hospitality events for Fire corporate partners, season ticket holders. Membership will also include Second Star access for all concerts and events at Toyota Park.
The Fire has designed its premier club experience under the guidance of the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program. The Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program and the “Take the Pledge” campaign encourages customers, contractors, Fire partners and fans to ‘take the pledge’ to reduce ways energy is consumed.
Much like the Chicago Fire name and badge show a symbolic connection to the city, so does the Second Star Club. The Fire was founded on October 8, 1997, the 126th anniversary of the most significant event in the city’s history, the Great Chicago Fire. The Chicago Fire Soccer Club takes pride in the historic nature and symbolism our name gives as a link to our city, and the Second Star Club furthers that connection.
The four six-pointed stars in the iconic civic flag represent four significant events in the city’s history, among them, the building of Fort Dearborn in 1803 (first star), the Great Chicago Fire in 1871 (second star), the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893 (third star) and the Century of Progress Exposition of 1933-34 (fourth star).
Located at midfield at Toyota Park, memberships for the Second Star Club are limited to the first 160 supporters and start at $6,500 per year for a three-year membership.
