Some players for the Chicago Fire got to meet some of their neighbors Wednesday night by serving hot meals to the needy at St. Blase Catholic Church in Summit.
Sheila Haennicke, of Catholic Charities, said a few players and staff from the soccer team helped out with various tasks during the church’s weekly dinner. They prepared plates, passed out food and helped clean up, she said.
“They’re doing everything,” Haennicke said. “It’s great to have them out here.”
