Portugal thrash PRK 7-0

Portugal Celebrate

Portugal ran rampant over an obviously weaker North Korean side Monday, downing the two-time World Cup participants 7-0 in Cape Town. Six different goal scorers racked up the total, giving pundits and fans a scoreline that was expected in the Korean's first match, a 2-1 loss to Brazil last Tuesday.

Things didn't look all the bad in the first half as North Korea had some dangerous chances while the teams were knotted at 0-0. Even after Raul Meireles 29th minute goal, the Koreans still produced, picking moments to attack and threaten the Portuguese goal.
It really wasn't until the second half that the Asian side came undone, surrendering three goals from Simao, Hugo Almeida and Tiago in a seven-minute span to go down 4-0 -- the goal storm effectively confirmed North Korea's exit from the 2010 World Cup but Portugal wasn't finished.
