Chicago Fire midfielder Logan Pause earned
his first career MLS Goal of the Week award after scoring the lone goal in the
Fire’s 4-1 defeat to Toronto FC at BMO Field this past weekend.
With 31 percent of the votes, Pause edged
San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski and Houston Dynamo midfielder
Brad Davis to give the Fire its second MLS Goal of the Week Award this season
and its fifth MLS Goal of the Week nomination to date.
With
the Fire trailing 2-0 in the 50th minute, Fire defender Krzysztof Krol laid the
ball off to Pause who smashed a driven ball into the top right corner of the
net past Toronto FC goalkeeper Stefan Frei. It was Pause’s second career goal
and first since he opened his MLS account against the New England Revolution on
April 7, 2007.
