The
Chicago Fire Foundation has been selected into the 2010 Bank of America Chicago
Marathon Charity Program as an associate level charity for the 2010 Bank of
American Chicago Marathon. Open registration for 2010 Chicago Marathon has
officially closed, however, individuals are still eligible to sign up for the
Chicago Marathon on behalf of the Chicago Fire Foundation, the charitable arm
of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club.
On
Sunday, October 10, 2010 runners from all 50 states and more than 100 countries
will set out to complete the 33rd edition of the 26.2 mile race that
begins and ends in Chicago’s historic Grant Park. The Chicago Fire Foundation
will join more than 100 nonprofit organizations in an effort to raise funds in
the name of charity. The funds raised during the 2010 Bank of American Chicago
Marathon will help support the Chicago Fire Foundation’s mission of enriching
the quality of life of the Chicagoland community, particularly its youth and
continuing to support organizations whose programs fall in the areas of health
and wellness, education and the environment.
Running
on behalf of a charitable cause offers participants a unique and rewarding
experience in addition to the accomplishment of completing a marathon
itself. In 2009, the hard work of the charities in the Bank of America
Chicago Marathon Charity Program resulted, in a record 8,500 runners registered
as part of a charity team and collectively raised $10 million for 123
organizations around the world.
The
Chicago Fire Foundation still has a limited number of race entries available
for the sold out 2010 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Click here or call the Foundation at

and obtain a guaranteed spot in the 2010 Chicago Marathon.
