Man. United to play MLS All-Star Game?

The MLS All-Star Game might feature just the team to sell out Reliant Stadium in Houston.

Monday’s Sports Business Journal reports that Soccer United Marketing (SUM), the marketing and commercial arm of Major League Soccer, is working with CAA Sports on a Manchester United tour of North America during the summer. The tour would involve a stop in Houston for a match against the MLS All-Stars.


SBJ cited sources as providing details of a four-game tour including stops in Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto and Houston for the MLS All-Star Game.


MLSsoccer.com has confirmed that a deal is yet to be finalized and that match-ups with multiple MLS clubs are contemplated. No MLS team has ever faced Manchester United in league history. 
The timing of the tour will eventually determine the players who would be available to travel to the U.S. MLS has yet to announce a date for its All-Star Game.
