Giuseppe Gentile left UNC-Charlotte following his junior year to sign with MLS. The dual US/Swiss citizen joined the Fire via waiver draft on Jan. 24, 2014 and will hope to contribute to Frank Yallop’s side in his rookie season.

At Charlotte: 2012 - Earned first-team NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors. Named second-team All-Atlantic 10. Named first-team NCCSIA All-State. Earned first-team Capital One Academic All-District honors.Named the team's David Schlee Memorial Award winner. Named College Sports Madness A-10 Player of the Week (10/22). Named A-10 Player of the Week and's National Player of the Week (10.22). Finished with a team-leading seven assists and 25 points. Finished second on the team with nine goals. Scored game-winning goals against Kentucky, George Washington and UAB in the NCAA Tournament. Recorded two goals and an assist in the 49ers victory over Massachusetts.
