How he joined the club: Claimed off waivers on July 27, 2015

2015 (CHICAGO FIRE): Claimed off waivers from Toronto FC on July 27, 2015. Made 10 appearances, eight of which were starts. Scored his first Fire goal against MTL on 9/5. Opened scoring in just the second minute against his former side TOR on 9/26; completed his brace with a goal in the 52nd minute at BMO Field. Also tallied goals against NE on 10/3 and NYR on 10/25. U.S. Open Cup: Started in the club’s semifinal at PHI on 8/12, but had to leave the game with a thigh contusion in the 21st minute.

2015 (TORONTO FC): Loaned Gilberto to Brazilian side Vasco da Gama on Feb. 20, 2015. Vasco da Gama: Played in 23 games and scored nine goals, each of which came during the Campeonato Guaraviton. Helped Vasco da Gama win the Campeonato Guaraviton in 2015, the club’s first win in that competition since 2003.

2014 (TORONTO FC): Signed on Dec. 13, 2013 as a Designated Player. Scored seven goals and had five assists in 28 games during his inaugural MLS season. He also appeared in four Canadian Championship Cup games, notching one assist. At one point during the MLS regular season, Gilberto scored in four-consecutive games, spanning Aug. 2 through 24 against Montreal, Columbus, Sporting KC and Chicago.

2013 (INTERNACIONAL): Appeared in three Brazilian league games before getting loaned to fellow Serie A side Portuguesa with the term starting on July 1, 2013. Portuguesa: Scored 14 goals in 24 games, including four multi-goal games. He had back-to-back braces starting with a 4-2 win against Bahia on Aug. 31 and ending with a 2-1 win against Ponte Preta on Sept. 5.
