Quaker Invitational Information
TEAM PARTICIPATION, PLAYER/COACH PASSES AND GUEST PLAYERS
The team or teams must be entered for competition in a league affiliated with the USSF or US CLUB and be sanctioned by the appropriate State or National Association. State and National Select teams are not eligible. Prior to competition, teams must present proof of affiliation and permission to travel (out of state teams). Validated, laminated State player passes, as well as parental medical release forms, are required for all players participating in the tournament. Teams are allowed 3 passed coaches on bench. Each coach in the bench area must be licensed and hold the appropriate pass, and is responsible for his/her team and spectators at each game. Any team not having a passed coach at the beginning of the game will have until the end of halftime to provide a passed coach or the game at hand will be forfeited (see Forfeit section for impact of forfeiting a game). A maximum of three guest players is allowed (players from same club are not considered guest players). Teams need no prior approval for guest players. Forms for guest players can be attained through state association. Questions regarding guest players should be directed to the Tournament Director.
If you wish to participate in the FIRE JUNIORS QUAKER INVITATIONAL, please complete the online application in its entirety and complete payment (US currency). The application must be completed online and tournament fee paid by July 29, 2014. The online registration can be found at www.chicago-fire.com/quaker-invitational. Fees can be paid either online with a credit card ($20 service fee applies) or by mailing in a check.
Players, coaching staff and family members participating in the tournament will have an opportunity to experience the ‘Athletes Village’. The Athletes Village is an interactive area located in the middle of the Libertyville soccer fields and will host Quaker, Adidas, Eurosport, Gatorade and Chicago Fire fun activities for participants to take part in when not on the field of play. The village will also feature lounge areas with TV’s and PlayStations available to play.
Please note this is a Stay to Play Event. As a condition of acceptance, all out of town attendees are expected to utilize official event hotels. Upon registration and confirmation of acceptance official event hotel information will be sent to team managers. All hotels provide rooms with 2 beds (or King and pullout sleeper) and are convenient to fields and dining. Please note that no room type guarantee is available.
OFF THE FIELD WORKSHOPS
Chicago Fire SC will be conducting a series of player clinics and coach workshops during the tournament. Player clinics will be focused around introducing the Chicago Fire SC player development program whilst coach events will be led by Chicago Fire Academy technical staff and will introduce coaches to the Chicago Fire player development curriculum.
If teams, especially out-of-state teams, are interested in playing an additional 4th game, the tournament will recommend a game against a team of equal competitive level. There will be a an additional charge for referees. Please contact the Tournament Director by Friday August 8th to request.
All teams will have the option of mailing in their tournament documents prior to the event. All documents being mailed in will have to be received by no later than Monday August 11th. Onsite check-in will also be available for those teams playing Friday games but will be required to check-in no later than 2 hours prior to their first game. All other teams who mail in their documents will also be required to check-in 2 hours prior to their first game to have the players cards checked.
