Quaker Invitational Information
TEAM PARTICIPATION, PLAYER/COACH PASSES AND GUEST PLAYERS
The team or teams must be entered for competition in a league affiliated with the USYS or national equivalent. State and National Select teams are not eligible. Prior to competition, teams must present proof of affiliation and permission to travel (out of state teams). Validated, laminated state player passes, as well as parental medical release forms, are required for all players participating in the tournament. Teams are allowed up to 3 passed coaches on bench. Each coach in the bench area must be licensed and hold the appropriate pass, and is responsible for his/her team and spectators at each game. Any team not having a passed coach at the beginning of the game will have until the end of halftime to provide a passed coach or the game at hand will be forfeited. A maximum of three guest players is allowed (players from same club are not considered guest players). Teams need no prior approval for guest players. Forms for guest players can be attained through our tournament website. Questions regarding guest players should be directed to the Tournament Director.
TOYOTA PARK GAME NIGHT
Each player will receive a free game ticket to attend the Chicago Fire v Montreal Impact MLS game at Toyota Park on Saturday August 10th (kick-off 7.30pm). Each team will receive 2 tickets for their coach and team manger. Players and coaching staff will have the opportunity to participate in celebrations with pre-game recognition and scrimmages on the main field as part of the celebration.
Players and coaching staff participating in the tournament will have an opportunity to experience the ‘athlete’s village’. The athletes village is an interactive zone located at the entrance of the Libertyville soccer fields and will host Quaker, Adidas/Eurosport and Chicago Fire fun activities for participants to take part in between games.
All teams in need of hotel accommodations are required to stay in an approved hotel. The 20 13 approved list will be issued to all clubs. Each room will cost approx $109 plus tax and will include one free room per 15 purchased by a participating team.
OFF THE FIELD WORKSHOPS
Chicago Fire Soccer Club will be conducting a series of player and coach workshops during the tournament. Player events will focus on college recruitment for high school players and coach events will include technical/admin classroom sessions to support staff.
If teams, especially out-of-state teams, are interested in playing an additional 4th game the tournament committee will recommend a game against a team of a equal competitive level. There may be a minimal charge for referees.
Although the Quaker Invitational is not a College Showcase, the Tournament Committee will contact college coaches on the behalf of players participating in the event. Please contact our club College Coordinator, Jamie Lyons, email@example.com, to request.
