The Chicago Fire kick off the 2016 season on March 6 hosting New York City FC at Toyota Park. Other notable home contests ahead this year include an appearance from the reigning 2015 MLS Cup champion Portland Timbers on May 28, 2014 champions LA Galaxy on August 24, as well as a pair of matches against last year’s runner-up -- and Fire rivals -- the Columbus Crew on March 19 and Oct. 13. The final home match of the regular season will take place on Oct. 16 against the New England Revolution.
