Jones Named to Trinidad and Tobago Roster for Copa America Play-In Match

CHICAGO (January 4, 2016) ā€“ Chicago Fire defender Joevin Jones has been selected to Trinidad and Tobagoā€™s 23-man roster by head coach Stephen Hart for the upcoming Copa America Centenario play-in match against Haiti at Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City, Panama on Friday, Jan. 8. 
Panama will take on Cuba in the second match of the doubleheader. The winner of each match will advance to the Copa America Centenario 2016 and join CONCACAF Gold Cup champion Mexico, 2013 Gold Cup champion and host United States, reigning Central American Cup champion Costa Rica and 2014 Caribbean Cup Champion Jamaica.
In 2015, his first season with the Men in Red, Jones scored one goal and added one assist in 28 games. The Carenage, Trinidad native most recently represented the Soca Warriors in a 2-1 win over Guatemala on Nov. 13 and a 0-0 draw against the United States on Nov. 17 in World Cup Qualifying play.

The Men in Red open the 2016 season at home on Sunday, March 6 against New York City FC at 1 p.m. CT (CSN Chicago).
