The attacking tandem of Gilberto and Harry Shipp earned selection to the MLS Team of the Week on Monday (Oct. 5) after contributing a combined two goals and an assist to Chicago's 3-1 win over New England Revolution Saturday night.
Shipp recorded his team-leading eighth assist in the 51st minute, setting up a David Accam equalizer. Just eight minutes later, Shipp pounced on a bouncing ball mishandled by defender Andrew Farrell and went on to split the wickets of Revs 'keeper Bobby Shuttleworth to give the Men In Red a 2-1 advantage.
Gilberto sealed the three points for Chicago in the 86th minute, side-volleying a loose ball close to goal for his third goal in two games.
