Jeff Larentowicz to Miss Extended Action with Herniated Disc

CHICAGO (July 7, 2015) – Chicago Fire captain Jeff Larentowicz will miss an extended period of action after an MRI on Tuesday confirmed that the 31-year-old defender has a herniated disc in his neck.

Larentowicz joins a growing list of Fire players expected to miss Saturday’s match against Seattle Sounders FC. The group also includes Designated Players Shaun Maloney (back) and David Accam (hamstring) as well as regular starters Adailton (groin) and Joevin Jones (international duty). Guly do Prado is also nursing a thigh injury that he aggravated during Tuesday’s session.
The Fire will aim to knock off Western Conference leading Seattle on Saturday at Toyota Park. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. CT on CSN Chicago.
