Magee Delivers Doughnuts, Then Two Goals, On Request

Mike Magee Kap & Haugh

Before heading to Toyota Park to prepare for a U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 match, Mike Magee paid a visit to old friends David Kaplan and David Haugh on the "Kap and Haugh" show. The in-studio appearance got off to a promising start when Magee arrived with a few boxes of Dunkin' Donuts treats for the crew -- perhaps taking a page out of Chicago Bulls rookie Bobby Portis' media relations textbook.

After hitting on topics ranging from the Chicago Fire to the growth of soccer in the U.S. to his favorite Chicago sports teams, Magee was ready to depart when Haugh made an appeal to the Fire forward, who's self-described as "superstitious about not being superstitious." Haugh wasn't buying it, suggesting that if Magee scored two goals later that night, he wouldn't be surprised to find Magee back in the studio the next time the Fire were slated to play at Toyota Park.

Well, apparently Magee was hungry for another appearance on "Kap and Haugh" (or more doughnuts), bagging the 27th and 28th goals of his Chicago Fire career to lift the Men In Red to a 3-1 win over the Charlotte Independence.
