CHICAGO (June 18, 2015) - The Chicago Fire are set to host USL side Charlotte Independence in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 at Toyota Park on Tuesday, June 30 at 7:30 p.m. CT.
The Fire advanced to the Round of 16 with a 1-0 overtime win over Louisville City FC on Tuesday evening at Toyota Park. The Independence advanced courtesy of a 1-0 win over the New England Revolution Wednesday.
Tickets are available via Ticketmaster, at the Toyota Park Box Office and by calling 888-MLS-FIRE. Group tickets are available at a discounted price by calling 888-MLS-FIRE.
Pub To Pitch bus rides will be available from the Globe Pub (5:30 p.m. bus departure) and Cleos Chicago (5:45 p.m. bus departure).
Fire Season Ticket Holder tickets are available on Account Manager. Tickets to the round of sixteen and quarterfinal matches are available to Fire Season Ticket Holders as part of the U.S. Open Cup Series. Should the Fire defeat the Independence, the Fire will host the quarterfinal match on July 21 or 22 against the winner of the Columbus Crew vs. Orlando City SC match.
Since 1998, the Fire have compiled a 37-12-4 record in Open Cup play, including a 24-1-1 record in matches played in the state of Illinois, reaching the semifinal round eleven times and the final six times. The Fire previously hoisted the coveted Dewar Trophy four times, in 1998, 2000, 2003 and 2006.
