On the heels of another trying winter, Chicagoans are understandably excited to make the most of the beautiful spring and summer weather while they can.

Soccer players of all ages and abilities are doing just that at The PrivateBank Fire Pitch(3626 N Talman Ave., Chicago), which transitioned from an indoor to an outdoor facility with the deflation of a removable dome last month.

“We’ve been doing this a long time, working in soccer in Chicago, and we know that people love to play outside,” said Matt Rosine, Assistant GM and Director of Programming at The PrivateBank Fire Pitch. “The facility is designed to be a place to play 12 months out of the year.”

Following a brief transition period in April, Chicago Fire Rec Soccer presented by Heineken moved from hosting 140 indoor teams to 188 outdoor squads for the spring season, which consists of 22 spring leagues running six days a week on three fields. Check out the video above for a look at all the action now underway at the facility.

As of Tuesday (May 19), registration for men’s, women’s and coed summer leagues is now live on Fire-Pitch.com. Leagues kick off as soon as June 23.
