A nifty one-two combination with Shaun Maloney and a cool outside-of-the-foot finish have landed Chicago Fire defender Joevin Jones on the list of five candidates for the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week honor. Fans are encouraged to vote for Jones, who now stands with a goal and an assist in his debut MLS season, on MLSSoccer.com before voting ends at midnight PT on Thursday, April 9.
Jones' goal was the first in what proved to be a wide-open affair between the Fire and Toronto FC, with the Men In Red eventually rallying from 2-1 down to top their Eastern Conference foes, 3-2. The win was the second in a row for the Fire, who now stand in fourth place in the East entering an off-week from competition.
Other candidates in Week 5 include Juan Agudelo (New England), Benoit Cheyrou (Toronto FC), Obafemi Martins (Seattle Sounders) and Javier Morales (Real Salt Lake). Click the video above for a look at all five goals nominated for AT&T MLS Goal of the Week.
