CHICAGO (July 30, 2014) — The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is set to host its Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, August 2 as the Fire face the Columbus Crew at Toyota Park at 7:30 p.m. CT. The game, presented by TrueCar, will feature an on-field tribute to the U.S. Armed Forces as military personnel present the American flag and participate in the ceremonial first kick prior to kickoff. The Fire are also set to host an Army swear-in ceremony on the field during halftime.

“The Club looks forward to honoring the brave men and women who serve our country with a game dedicated to them and their families,” said Chicago Fire COO Atul Khosla. “We are especially proud and privileged to have the opportunity to be a part of a significant moment in the lives of those who will make their official commitment to service during our match. We hope to make the night as memorable as possible for our troops.”

Other game day honors and elements include a T-shirt toss by military personnel, photo opportunity with military vehicles at Fire Fest, the Club’s interactive pre-game festival, and TrueCar and Fire-branded dog tags, which will be given away to the first 5,000 fans at the gate.

Additionally, veterans and members of the armed forces can receive discounted tickets to the match through the USO or by presenting a military ID at the Toyota Park Box Office. Discounted tickets begin at $12 for Corner Kick seats and $20 for Premier seating.

The Club is also extending free parking to military members with an ID and a 20-percent discount on all regular-priced items at concession stands throughout the stadium, excluding alcohol.
