The Chicago Fire passed in Phase Two of the 2013 MLS Re-Entry Process Wednesday but did see one eligible now-former player selected in Jamaican defender Shaun Francis.
The club declined the options on Francis, Michael Videira, Joel Lindpere and Maicon Santos last week while utility player Wells Thompson was out of contract at season’s end, making the five eligible for the 2013 Re-Entry Process.
Francis' MLS rights have been acquired by San Jose, while the remaining four players are now MLS free agents.
