Goal Of The Year Day 12

GOTY 12

In Day 11 of the 2011 Goal of the Year Tournament, #1 Jalil Anibaba’s “impossible, improbable” effort from March 30 U.S. Open Cup qualifying vs. Colorado edged out #2 Sebastian Grazzini’s memorable equalizer in the October 15 Capital Comeback at D.C. United. With the result, Anibaba is crowned the Armas Bracket Champion and will take on Nowak Champion #1 Marco Pappa’s Hat Trick Clincher in the first tournament semifinal Wednesday. It also means the three remaining #1 seeds have all advanced to the tournament’s final four.

2011 FIRE GOTY - Day 12 - Which goal was better?
TODAY’S MATCHUP:

We move back to Kubik Bracket where we’ll crown our last Regional champion as #2 Pappa’s stunning individual effort on March 26 vs. Sporting KC goes up against the surprise of the tournament, #4 Diego Chaves’ Capital Comeback winner on October 15 at DC. The winner will take the Kubik crown and move on to face Klopas Champion, #1 Dominic Oduro’s U.S. Open Cup semifinal game winner vs. Richmond from August 30 in the competition’s second semifinal on Thursday. If Pappa wins, it’ll mark the second year in a row where the Guatemalan international took two entries into the tournament’s semifinals.
