The Fire captain came off a 2012 campaign where he achieved a career-high 32 MLS appearances only to see his playing time cut more than half with a career low 15 games played in 2013.
“As a competitor, you want to be on the field, you want to be competing, you want to be out there,” Pause told Chicago-Fire.com as he reflected on the 2013 season, “but that’s the reality of the game that we play and just accept the role and responsibilities as they come. I’d like to think I still had an impact with the guys and hopefully still made our team better.”
