Chicago Fire Draw Montreal Impact 2-2 Saturday Evening

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill.(Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013) – The Chicago Fire (11-12-7, 40 points) played the Montreal Impact (13-9-7, 46 points) to a high-paced 2-2 draw Saturday evening at Toyota Park. Impact forward Marco Di Vaio scored his MLS leading 19th goal of the season in the 25th minute before Mike Magee’s goals in the 57th and 73rd minutes gave the Men in Red the 2-1 lead, but Maxim Tissot’s 87th minute strike drew the visitors even as the two sides split the points on the evening.

-With the draw the Men in Red move to 2-1-1 all-time in matches played against the Impact
-Mike Magee’s brace moves the Chicago native into sole position of second place in the MLS Golden Boot race with 18 goals. Magee’s previous career high was seven goals in his 2003 rookie season with the MetroStars.
-The Fire were without the services of defender Bakary Soumare who was serving a one-game suspension for a red card that he received Sept. 21.
