MLS Disciplinary Committee Fines Chicago Fire Assistant Coach Leo Percovich

NEW YORK (August 23, 2013) – MLS Commissioner Don Garber has suspended Montreal Impact Head Coach Marco Schallibaum one additional game and issued him an additional fine of $5,000 for his repeated misbehavior. Schallibaum was dismissed from the sideline by the referee during his team’s game against D.C. United on Aug. 17. He has been dismissed by a referee in three games this season and suspended by the MLS Disciplinary Committee for entering the field of play on another occasion.
Commissioner Garber also rescinded the automatic one-game suspension and fine that D.C. United Head Coach Ben Olsen received for being dismissed by the referee during the Aug. 17 game in Montreal.
Separately, the MLS Disciplinary Committee has fined Chicago Fire Assistant Coach Leo Percovich an additional $500 for his improper sideline behavior that led to the referee dismissing him from the Aug. 17 game against New England Revolution. Because of his dismissal, Percovich is fined a total of $1,000 and will serve an automatic one-game suspension Friday Aug. 23 against Sporting Kansas City.
