Fire Foundation to Auction Off Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Jerseys

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club, the Chicago Fire Foundation, MLS W.O.R.K.S. and University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences are teaming up to aid MLS’ breast cancer awareness campaign as part of Soccer Kicks Cancer, an initiative focused on raising awareness and funds for cancer research and treatment and providing strength and hope in the fight against cancer affecting men, women and children.


During Saturday’s match against D.C. United, the Fire will don blue kits with pink name plates, numbers and special pink MLS W.O.R.K.S. ribbon patch on their jerseys, pink adidas sweat bands and shoe laces. Fire goalkeepers will be in special pink jerseys to further support the cause.


The jerseys from all 27 Fire players and Sparky are  now available for auction via http://fire.auction-bid.org or texting “AUCTION” to 68494. Bid on all items at the Foundation tent on the Northeast Concoursethrough the end of halftime of Saturday's match.


Each winner who is present at the match will have the opportunity to have the Fire player whose jersey they won personally autograph the new piece of memorabilia.
