Fire face Real España

CHICAGO, IL (Dec. 20, 2011) The Chicago Fire Soccer Club, in conjunction with the Chicago Fire Juniors – Louisiana,  announced Tuesday the club will take on Honduran side Real España in an international friendly at New Orleans’ Tad Gormley Stadium Saturday, Feb. 4 at 5:00 p.m. CT. The match will conclude Phase One of the Men in Red’s preseason preparation for the 2012 Major League Soccer campaign.

Tickets for the international friendly start at just $10 for children and $20 for adults and are available at

One of the top clubs in Honduras, Real España have won 10 Liga Nacional titles, with the most  recent championship coming during the 2010-11 campaign. Featuring former LA Galaxy striker Carlos Pavon, los Aurinegros will enter the match after finishing as runner’s up during the 2011 Honduran Apertura season.

Hosted by the Chicago Fire Juniors – Louisiana, the match will come days after the first team’s 15-day stay in Ave Maria, FL, 17 miles east of the Chicago Fire Juniors – Florida’s headquarters in Naples.
