CHICAGO, IL (Dec. 20, 2011) – The Chicago Fire Soccer Club, in conjunction with the Chicago Fire Juniors – Louisiana, announced Tuesday the club will take on Honduran side Real España in an international friendly at New Orleans’ Tad Gormley Stadium Saturday, Feb. 4 at 5:00 p.m. CT. The match will conclude Phase One of the Men in Red’s preseason preparation for the 2012 Major League Soccer campaign.
Tickets for the international friendly start at just $10 for children and $20 for adults and are available at www.chicagofirejuniorslouisiana.com.
One of the top clubs in Honduras, Real España have won 10 Liga Nacional titles, with the most recent championship coming during the 2010-11 campaign. Featuring former LA Galaxy striker Carlos Pavon, los Aurinegros will enter the match after finishing as runner’s up during the 2011 Honduran Apertura season.
Hosted by the Chicago Fire Juniors – Louisiana, the match will come days after the first team’s 15-day stay in Ave Maria, FL, 17 miles east of the Chicago Fire Juniors – Florida’s headquarters in Naples.
