CHICAGO, IL (December 5, 2011) – The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Monday the team has purchased the rights to 20-year-old striker Orr Barouch from Mexican club Tigres UANL. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Orr is a talented, hardworking striker that played a significant role for us last season,” said Chicago Fire head coach Frank Klopas. “He embodies the type of player we’re looking for and is someone that we see enormous potential for in the future.”

Having joined the Men in Red on loan from the Mexican Primera side in March, Barouch appeared in 28 league matches, tallying two goals and two assists during the 2011 MLS campaign. The Israeli youth international led the team in scoring with three goals during the side’s run to the 2011 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final and added five goals during MLS Reserve League play.

Born in Haifa, Israel, Barouch made his international debut for the Israeli U-21 Men’s National Team earlier this year, earning three caps for his country during 2011.
