Kljestan, Anderlecht still in title hunt

Sacha Kljestan pitched in a key assist during a strong 90 minutes as Anderlecht revived title repeat hopes with a 4-1 rally rout of Gent on Wednesday night.

With his side down a goal, the former Chivas USA man teed up the first of Romelu Lukaku's two goals on the stroke of halftime. The win pulls Anderlecht to within three points of the top with two games left. The Mauves will now make a crucial trip to leaders Standard Liège on Saturday.

In early-round Swedish Cup action, Alejandro Bedoya came on for Örebro in the 72nd minute of a 2-2 contest that eventually saw the visitors advance on penalties past Ljungskile. The US midfielder buried his spot kick in the 6-4 shootout victory.

Gale Agbossoumonde went the distance in defense as DjurgÃ¥rdens moved on with a last-gasp 2-1 victory at IFK LuleÃ¥.

Mjällby forward Samuel Petrone worked the final 10 minutes of a 2-1 loss to Vasalunds.

Next door in Norway's NM Cup, Mikkel Diskerud helped Stabæk on to the third round with a 2-1 win at mites Hasle/Løren.

Molde FK debutant Sean Cunningham went all 90 at left back and Josh Gatt did likewise at right winger as the visitors advanced with a 2-0 victory at Træff.
