The Chicago Fire announced the signing of 20-year-old Colombian forward Cristian Nazarit. The striker will be eligible to play this Saturday when the Chicago Fire host the Vancouver Whitecaps at 7:30pm. Tickets are still available by calling 888-MLS-FIRE or by visiting Chicago-Fire.com. Goal.com takes a look at the young talent's successful past. Nazarit began his professional career with Colombian side America de Cali in 2007, where he appeared in 13 matches before transferring to Independiente at the beginning of 2008.
Len Ziehm of the Chicago Sun-Times says the striker will provide a needed spark to the Fire. In 2009, Nazarit appeared in 42 matches for Los Cardenales, scoring 16 goals in the process.
Sam Stejskal of MLSsoccer.com reports that technical director Frank Klopas says Colombian striker adds new dimension to forward corps, saying “Cristian brings a wealth of talent and experience to the Chicago Fire."
